Editorial policy
Who decides what is published, what a quotation is, and how to correct the facts.
Who decides
The editor decides what is published. No one pays to appear, and the people featured supply and correct facts only.
The people and organisations in an interview can supply and correct the facts about themselves: a name, a title, an organisation, a website. They do not write, approve or change pages.
The details on a person's or organisation's page come from them. Each one is marked Self-stated until Sourced.media has checked it, and shows the date it was last verified. Any counts on a page, such as episodes or insights, are of what Sourced.media has published, never a career total.
The Featured places on the site are chosen by the editor.
Every episode names its editor, and every page about an interview carries this line:
Editorial control rests with Sourced.media. The subject supplies and corrects the factual record only.
How a page comes to be
The editor chooses which shows and episodes Sourced.media covers. Every episode it covers gets the full set of pages and assets, made by a named editor from the recording.
What a quotation is
An insight quotes the speaker's meaning in clean English, not every sound as it was spoken: false starts, repetitions and fillers are removed, nothing is added, the sense is never changed, and nobody is made to look foolish by a slip of the tongue.
Every quotation links to the moment it was said, and each episode's transcript is written the same way, every point kept.
Reuse
Where an episode carries downloads, its assets may be shared and quoted as they are, with the marks intact, but not sold or used in advertising.
Removal
Only a show's commercial owner, or Sourced.media where the law or this policy requires, removes an episode; removal deletes a page and never edits one.
Corrections
To correct a fact about yourself or your organisation, or to report an error anywhere on a page, write to corrections@sourced.media; corrections are made promptly.
