Can you predict what a coward will do?

Derrick McManus, former STAR Group officer and founder of Human Durability, speaking with podcast host Aleksandra King on The BEYOND Podcast. Derrick McManus says the man who shot him is a coward who is probably never a threat to him, but a coward is not predictable, so Derrick McManus stays vigilant.

Derrick McManus knows where the man who shot him is, and is asked how that feels. He answers with a mind divided, most of it resting on a distance from the shooting he calls a privilege and a smaller part keeping watch without complacency.

His vigilance follows from a coward's unpredictability, and it is the part of his mind he refuses to let go. Cowards, he adds, are erratic; they act in the moment and take opportunities nobody expects.
